Sfenks, Antik M\u0131s\u0131r’\u0131n en tan\u0131nm\u0131\u015f mitolojik yarat\u0131klar\u0131ndan biri olup, genellikle bir aslan veya di\u015fi aslan g\u00f6vdesi ile bir h\u00fck\u00fcmdar\u0131n y\u00fcz\u00fc gibi farkl\u0131 bir canl\u0131n\u0131n ba\u015f\u0131n\u0131 birle\u015ftirir. Bu heybetli yap\u0131lar, h\u00fck\u00fcmdar\u0131n M\u0131s\u0131r’\u0131 d\u00fc\u015fmanlardan ve kaostan koruma g\u00fcc\u00fcn\u00fc ve ilahi g\u00f6revini somutla\u015ft\u0131r\u0131rd\u0131. En yayg\u0131n formu, h\u00fck\u00fcm s\u00fcren kral veya krali\u00e7enin y\u00fcz\u00fcne sahip insan ba\u015fl\u0131 aslan g\u00f6vdesidir. M\u00d6 birinci biny\u0131lda pop\u00fclerle\u015fen ve kanatl\u0131, y\u0131lan kuyruklu bir sfenks olarak g\u00f6sterilen Tutu tanr\u0131s\u0131 ise, d\u00fc\u015fmanlar\u0131 g\u00fcvenli bir mesafede tutmak i\u00e7in \u00e7a\u011fr\u0131l\u0131rd\u0131.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

T\u00fcm M\u0131s\u0131r sfenkslerinin en \u00fcnl\u00fcs\u00fc ve en b\u00fcy\u00fc\u011f\u00fc, M\u00d6 yirmi alt\u0131nc\u0131 y\u00fczy\u0131lda Memfis’teki kraliyet mezarl\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 korumak amac\u0131yla oyulmu\u015f olan Gize’deki B\u00fcy\u00fck Sfenks’tir. Tarih boyunca kendi mitolojisini yaratan bu an\u0131t, Yeni Krall\u0131k d\u00f6neminden itibaren Kenanl\u0131 bir \u00e7\u00f6l tanr\u0131s\u0131 olan Hauron ile \u00f6zde\u015fle\u015ftirilmi\u015f ve bir g\u00fcne\u015f tanr\u0131s\u0131 olarak tap\u0131n\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu r\u00fcya, Sfenks’i kaosa (\u00e7\u00f6l kumlar\u0131) kar\u015f\u0131 sava\u015fan ve yeniden do\u011fu\u015f i\u00e7in yard\u0131ma ihtiyac\u0131 olan yarat\u0131c\u0131 g\u00fcne\u015f tanr\u0131s\u0131 motifine ba\u011flar.
